Reclay Slovensko s.r.o. holds a packaging seminar in Bratislava

Organised by Reclay Slovensko s.r.o., the first international packaging seminar was held in Bratislava on March 10th. The event focussed on the legal obligations for packaging and launching to markets in Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic. The seminar’s attendees were Slovakian manufacturers who export their goods to these countries. A total of 30 representatives from the production and trade sectors took part in this specialist event. Speakers included Thomas Geirhofer, Director of Key Account Management/After Sales at Reclay Österreich GmbH, Mario Simon, Sales Team Leader at Reclay GmbH and Vlado Volek, Director of SYBA Praha, a Czech packaging institute. In an interesting series of talks, the three speakers went into detail about the special legislation and innovations within the packaging industry in each of the individual countries. They also looked at the obligations that foreign importers are subjected to and what steps are necessary in order to sufficiently satisfy packaging regulations.

The seminar once again made it clear that although the EU packaging directive 94/62/EG has become national law in all three countries, nevertheless, each country has its own legal conditions and these can sometimes differ vastly. Importers are thereby forced to learn how to deal with the specific legal situation of every market in order to ensure that legal obligations are correctly fulfilled and to avoid the threat of sanctions. Reclay Slovensko advises Slovakian producers about exactly these specific market conditions, thereby guaranteeing them sound legal protection on foreign territory.
